Cloud Strife

Arrogant, cocky, and full of ambition, Cloud fights as a mercenary who later joins AVALANCHE in order to grab some quick cash. What seems like a simple bombing mission turns into a quest to seek the warrior he once stood beside. Throughout his adventure, Cloud is forced to take on the challenges of facing the identity of his own life as well as struggle to save the planet.

Aeris Gainsborough

Through her beauty and kindness, Aeris holds a mystery that is both sacred and powerful. Meeting Cloud on the dirty streets of Midgar, Aeris later teams up with the ex-Soldier after an encounter with Shinra. Though her heart is pure and true, she takes interest in the relationship between Cloud and Tifa. 

Tifa Lockheart

Tifa is gentle and kind at heart, but once provoked, she becomes a lethal weapon. Once a childhood friend of Cloud, Tifa is a proud member of AVALANCHE and bar hostess at 7th Heaven in Sector 7. Even after five years of being apart, Tifa still can't hide her strong feelings for Cloud. 

Barret Wallace

Losing his wife in an incident with Shinra years ago, Barret founded AVALANCHE: an underground resistance group whose mission is to destroy the use of Mako energy by destroying the reactors that power Midgar. Devoting his life to vengeance, Barret hires Cloud, an ex-Soldier, for his first bombing mission. Little does he realize that there is much more at stake. 

Cid Highwind

Destined to be the first man to explore the stars, Cid is one of the best pilots in air or on sea. With an excellent knowledge of machinery and expertise at his hand, Cloud and his team make use of Cid's skills as well as his stubborn and egotistic attitude. 

Red XIII

Strong, fierce, and coated with fire-red fur, Red XIII is one large and powerful beast. However, his mind and soul are a different story. With amazing intelligence and a warm heart, Red XIII joins with Cloud after being rescued from a horrible Shinra experiment. Although Red XIII becomes a loyal and promising ally, much of his life remains a mystery.

Cait Sith

Cait Sith seems trustworthy at first, but always seems to be just as unreliable as his fortune telling. He rides on the back of his huge stuffed Mog, magically brought to life. With his large megaphone in hand, Cait Sith shouts orders to his large Mog. Although extremely strong in battle, Cait Sith is pretty weak at heart. 

Yuffie Kisaragi

Yuffie is the direct decendant of a tradition-bound ninja clan - but she could care less about "tradition." She forcefully joins AVALANCHE, hoping to use them to obtain as much materia as possible. She is sly and completely self-centered, and her young age leads to brash decision-making and tumultuous relationships.

Vincent Valentine

Vincent, once having a secret past with Shinra, joins Cloud in an effort to resolve the torture in his soul and the horror Shinra inflicted upon him. Although he is quiet and frail, a dark and frightening power hides within. Although it seems Vincent was merely a subject for experimentation, his existance his an even deeper secret.
